This guide will show you how to get started with Helperbird in Google Drive.
Prerequisites
Before you dive in, make sure you’ve got the following:
- Google Account: You’ll need a Google Account to access Google Drive.
- Helperbird Add-on: Make sure you have the Helperbird Google Workspace add-on installed.
- Helperbird Version: Ensure you’re using Helperbird version 107 or later for the best experience.

Once you're set up, you can start using Helperbird with Google Drive. Here’s how to open PDFs using Helperbird’s built-in PDF reader.
How to Open PDFs in Helperbird’s PDF Reader
1. Go to Google Drive
Open Google Drive in your web browser.
2. Select a PDF
Find and click on the PDF you want to read.
3. Choose "Open with"
At the top of the PDF viewer, click the Open with button.
4. Open in Helperbird
From the list, choose Open in Helperbird.
5. Confirm Opening
If a pop-up asks if you want to open the PDF in a new tab, go ahead and confirm.
6. View Your PDF
Your PDF will now open in Helperbird’s PDF reader, where you can use all the accessibility tools.
Use Right-Click to Open PDFs in Helperbird’s PDF Reader
You can also use the right-click menu to open PDFs in Helperbird.
1. Go to Google Drive
Navigate to Google Drive and find the PDF you want to open.
2. Right-Click the PDF
Right-click on the PDF file or its icon.
3. Open in Helperbird
In the menu that pops up, select Open in Helperbir'.
4. Confirm Opening
A new tab will open. If prompted, click Yes or OK to proceed.
5. View Your PDF
The PDF will open in Helperbird’s PDF reader, ready for you to use.
